The more I’ve been reading, listening and learning, the more I’m realizing that part of doing the work is alleviating and eliminating the barriers that give others the opportunity to say, “But I don’t know where to start.” (See also: That should not be your excuse!)

Eager to do more in supporting and uplifting communities that have been neglected by the mainstream marketplace, I wanted to answer the questions that sound a lot like “who?”, “what?”, “where"?” and “how?”. Because it’s not the responsibility of our Black community members to tell us how we can be better and where our dollars should go. In the era of social distancing, it can seem daunting to know where and how to look for brands that are Black-owned so over the past few weeks, I’ve been building a list of some incredible brands you need to know and where you can find them…
